Daß es sich bei den überlieferten Skizzen um Entwürfe zu einem Chorwerk handelt, belegt eine Skizze (in der Gesamtausgabe A 22) durch die Gruppenaufteilung der Systeme und die Verwendung der alten Schlüssel, deren sich Schönberg bevorzugt bei Chorwerken bediente.
