| Beschreibung: | Wie Felix Greissle dem Herausgeber mitteilte, trug Schönberg die Instrumentation der Orchesterfassung in ein Kopieexemplar der Lichtpausreinschrift der Bläserfassung B ein. Diese Information wird gestützt durch einen Brief, den Schönberg am 29. Juni 1944 an Gustave Reese vom G. Schirmer Verlag, New York, schrieb*): In my last Letter to Mr. Greissle have already expressed my readiness to orchestrate the Triptych for piano and violin of my dear friend Carl Engel.... I should mention that I will not write the full score myself but will enter the whole orchestration into the piano score (in the same manner as I did with my violin concerto and with the full orchestra version of my windband variations [von and an als Fußnote hinzugefügt]): thus an experienced copyist will than [sic!] copy the full score.
