In seinem Brief an Schönberg vom 29.5.1950 schickte Chemjo Vinaver die vom Komponisten erbetene Textvorlage, sowohl in der Originalsprache Hebräisch wie in Englisch übersetzt, mit: "It is a privilege to supply you with the desired text and its translation. As you may see from the contents, this psalm represents the Hebrew original of the much-composed De Profundis --minus the later appended words from the New Testament.
